Cookie Policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026.

Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work; others measure visits or show ads, and those only run if you agree. How we handle personal data in general is in our Privacy Policy.

Your choice

When you visit, Google’s consent message lets you accept or refuse cookies for statistics and advertising. Until you accept, Google Analytics and personalised ads stay switched off. You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the site may then work less well.

Cookies and similar technologies on this site

  • Essential. Security and performance (Wordfence, LiteSpeed Cache) and remembering your consent choice. They do not track you across sites.
  • Statistics, with consent. Google Analytics, added through Google Site Kit, tells us how many people read which posts. More about Google cookies.
  • Our own statistics. Independent Analytics runs on our server and counts visits to our pages without sending them to a third party.
  • Advertising, with consent. Google AdSense shows ads and may use cookies (such as DoubleClick) to personalise them and limit repeats. Without consent you may still see non-personalised ads. See how Google uses advertising cookies.
  • Affiliate partners. If you click a link to Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Klook, 12Go, Heymondo, SafetyWing, Skyscanner, Holafly or Discover Cars, that partner may set a cookie on its own site so that it can credit us for a booking. We do not control these cookies; see each partner’s policy.
  • Embedded content. The GetYourGuide widgets inside some posts and the map on the Destinations page load third-party code that may set cookies of its own.

We do not use social media buttons or tracking pixels from social networks.
