Coffee Shops in Xingping: Hidden Gems to Discover
As you wander through the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, you’ll find coffee shops in Xingping that blend tradition and modernity, each with its own special touch. From rustic hideaways to more contemporary spaces, the offerings are varied and surprising. Here are our favorites:
Bai Cafe (白Cafe)

A true paradise for coffee and dessert lovers. This café stands out for its coconut latte and fresh waffles, as well as the famous Basque cheesecake – perfect for a leisurely breakfast or an afternoon snack. The space has a cozy interior and a small hidden courtyard at the back, ideal for relaxing.
Guxitai Coffee (古戏台咖啡厅)

If you’re looking for a peaceful and authentic atmosphere, Guxitai Coffee is a great choice. The coffee is delicious, and the space has a very pleasant courtyard at the back, perfect for a moment of rest after exploring the village.
Chenbei Homemade Yoghurt (陈贝贝手工现酿酸奶)

Although known for its creamy homemade yogurts, this place also serves surprisingly good coffee. We tried both and became fans!
Autumn Inn (暖巷小镇·秋水民宿(兴坪古镇店))

This is not just accommodation – it’s a special place. On the ground floor, you’ll find a book exchange café, full of stories and local memories. On the first floor, the true owners of the space are the cats, who dominate the inn’s cat café. A unique and full-of-personality spot! This is where we stayed, and you can see more options here.
Shanzhong Years Bakery (山中岁月烘焙坊)

If you’re a fan of sweets, this bakery is worth a visit. The warm egg tarts are delicious, and there’s always something fresh coming out of the oven. The smell alone is an invitation to step inside.
Tips for Your Xingping Adventure
Before you set off to discover the best coffee shops in Xingping, here are some useful tips:
- Payments: Most cafés accept Alipay, which simplifies transactions and even allows you to check menus and place orders directly in the app.
- Language: Not everyone speaks English, so it’s worth learning a few basic phrases in Mandarin or using a translation app to make communication easier.
- Unlimited internet: China blocks many Western apps. An eSIM from Holafly ensures unlimited internet without the need for complicated VPNs.
- Travel insurance: The healthcare system in China can be expensive for foreigners. Insurance like Heymondo guarantees hassle-free medical assistance.
With its picturesque setting, stunning landscapes, and a café scene full of surprises, Xingping is a must-visit destination for those who enjoy exploring at a leisurely pace. Whether you’re looking for a good coffee, authentic flavors, or simply a quiet spot to relax, you’ll find it all here – and much more.
